How does Tubagua support the community?
10% of Tubagua’s income supports a community food program managed by the staff. Part of the crop is donated to local families and some of it is purchased by the lodge. This 10% program is shown on the invoice as a surcharge; this makes the fund free of commissions and taxes, which would happen if it was buried in the price. Tubagua Ecolodge is a Gold member of Trip Advisors Green Leader Program and has won the national Atabey Environmental Award in Dominican Republic

Yes, Tubagua Ecolodge offers airport transportation for guests. We recommend calling ahead to confirm details. You can choose Puerto Plata (POP) located 20 minutes away or Santiago (STI) located 90 minutes away. Flights to STI are often less expensive.

How do I get to Tubagua?
We’re located on a brand new highway and you can easily get here by locating us on Google Maps. For the sake of privacy, there is no sign out on the highway. But the GPS on Google Maps will bring you right into our parking lot. You can also get here easily by taxi from the airports or bus stations; we can help you arrange for a trusted driver after you reserve your stay. The local buses do not pass very often and are therefore not recommended.
